Pearls, Tea and Haircut

The main objective of today was to wait to hear the results of yesterday's TB test.  If it was positive then we'd have to go back to the clinic for a chest x-ray.  Thankfully it was negative.  This gave us a lot of time for other adventures.

This morning we took a cab to the pearl market, an amazing shopping complex with hundreds of stores. It's not just pearls but every stone imaginable. Super fun to walk around there.  A lot of stores just had one color stone - the blue stone store, the yellow stone store, the pink stone store - you get the picture.

This evening all the families went out for a nice meal at a local restaurant.  Our guides ordered food for us - really good! After dinner, Todd and I wanted to pick up some green tea leaves so one of the guides navigated us down some back streets to a great local tea shop.  On the way there we saw a small hair dressing shop and our guide reminded me that I had said I wanted to get my hair cut.  I figure that I'll have more time here than when I get home.  So I went in and showed the guy a picture of what I wanted and for about $3.00 I got a haircut!  Keep watching over the next few days to see if I get a good "after" picture.  Unless it's too hot and I have my signature ponytail look.

Valerie had a pretty good day.  Not too many screaming fits - but a few.
